Internet poker has become globally famous recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the different gamblers acquire five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s amount is equal to your original ante, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantly to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount on par with the initial wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pony’s up money equal to your bet and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
