Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve closing poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While competing in online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best poker players in the world might be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
